 High School Bio:

            Harton shattered the state record for touchdowns in a season by scoring 43 his senior season in 13 games. He also set the record for points in a season with 244. He ran for 2,015 yards on 250 carries and took the Lions to the state playoff quarter-finals before losing to Sand Rock in overtime his senior year.

Great Moments in Alabama High School Football History

Luverne 'Toad' Wise was the first female football player in Alabama and may have been the first in the country. She was a kicker for the Escambia County Blue Devils in 1939-40.
